After more than 4 months I finally got my bicycle fixed. I may never be late for this job again haha

Today I had two Japanese interactions before I even got to my desk. This is super rare, considering I'm often lucky to get two in an entire day. That's not why I'm writing about them though; I'm writing because one was the absolute embodiment of my life in Japan, and the other was just cheeky.

The first encounter was when I was walking down the hall after entering the building. I was stopped by a gym teacher who asked if I would play basketball on the teacher's team...for the sports festival in a half an hour. I looked down at my clothes and was like "...uh...no, I don't think that's gonna happen." In typical fashion, maybe had someone said something to me in advance I could've come prepared. The story of my Japanese life. They're two people short, so they've really only shot themselves in the foot on this one. We'll see who they get to play.

The second encounter, when I walked into the staff room two teachers were clustered around my desk.

"Oh here she is! So...You've got this nice collection of Indiana Jones pictures on your desk, and then this picture of the principal. What's up with that?"

"Oh, haha, well the Indys are from my classroom materials, and Mr. Yashima is there because he's with the office people chart underneath the pictu-"

"-no, no, no. It's unsightly, he doesn't fit at all! Haha let's do this." *slides picture underneath an Indy picture* "There we go."

Funny stuff.

Well today is the last day of our spots festival and I haven't watched a single match. In fact, I don't intend to watch any of them. I have zero interest in my fourth sports festival. I feel bad for not going down at least for a bit and "supporting my students," but usually it's just standing around watching poor sportsmen get creamed by slightly better sportsmen. I never liked sports to begin with, let alone with all the pathetic undertones lol You can imagine how not good at sports one of the most rigorous academic high schools in the prefecture really is.
